Flickr is driving me batty. I don't want a Yahoo ID but they force you into getting one. I already have a gmail account as well as countless other things. POOP.

anyway i've been having a lot of fun lately. i've decided instead of posting a billion pictures on my facebook and my myspace and here that im simply going to post them to Flickr and write about them on LJ. once i get the power cable for my NEW LAP TOP it will be a lot easier to stay updated. Im also working on getting a new car, and redoing mine and jody's apartment. HUZZAH! i will acquire an external hard drive as well as MP3 turntables sometime in 2010. Also on the list is embedding my LJ and getting my own domain name. my dad has the webspace for me so all i need is the domain name. www.chrissieheavenridge.com just really isnt down my alley. im thinking www.morchillaattack.com. haha!

my new years resolutions are set, and i have high hopes for this next year.

part of the reason I'm feeling hopeful is due to the Bassnectar show i attended this Thursday. it was... spectacular. i didnt think Northwest Arkansas could get down like that! hence the turntables. i want a scene here, and i want to help start it! anywho here's a clip from the show:

w00t!

Click Here for more videos and pix from the showCollapse )

and then of course there's other misadventures and pictures that have yet been posted. under this Lj-cut is where you'll find other things... less easily explained and or categorized.

Djuma, the Wolf Boy from Turkmenistan
Date found: 1962
Age when found: 7
Location: Turkmenistan
Animals: wolves

Djuma, the Wolf Boy from Turkmenistan

Djuma was found in 1962 in southern Russia by oil explorers, and exhibited the usual characteristics of feral children: he howled like a wolf and savagely bit one of the oilmen.
Djuma ate raw meat

The name Djuma means the Wolf Boy. Still alive in 1991 (when he would have been about 37) Djuma was unable to walk; he ate raw meat, and would bite people when frightened, although he could brush his teeth and hair and use the lavatory. Djuma had learnt a very limited amount of language, amounting to only a few ungrammatical phrases.
A victim of civil unrest

Djuma has apparently communicated to his carers using sign language that his family were killed in a political purge, his mother throwing herself over his body to save him.

If alive today, he is presumably still in the clinic where he was expected to live out his days, spending much of his time in a world of his own, oblivious to his surroundings.

The Indian Jackal Girl
Date found: 1923
Location: Cooch Bahar, India
Animals: jackals

The Indian Jackal Girl

This girl (of European origin) was apparently rescued from a pack of jackals and then kept for a time by the Maharini of Cooch Bahar. Like so many other "rescued" children, she longed to return to the jungle, and died within a few months.

and this one is really interesting...

The Lobo Wolf Girl of Devil's River
Date found: 1845
Age when found: 10
Location: San Felipe, Texas, USA
Years in the wild: 10
Animals: wolves
The Lobo Wolf Girl of Devil's River

In May of 1835, the Wolf Girl of Devil's River was born to Mollie Dent, who had gone with her husband to the Beaver Lake area to trap. Mollie was having problems with the birth, so her husband, John Dent, rode to get help from a Mexican-run goat ranch on the Pecos Canyon, but he was struck and killed by lightning before he could return accompanied by the Mexican couple. By the time the Mexicans reached Mollie, she had died, apparently in childbirth. Wolf tracks in the vicinity suggested that the newborn infant had been devoured by the lobo wolves of the area.
Sighted after 10 years

However, in 1845 a boy saw a girl, in the company of a pack of lobo wolves, attacking a herd of goats. Less than a year later, a Mexican woman at San Felipe saw two large wolves and a girl devour a freshly-killed goat. She observed the girl run off — first on all fours, and then on two legs.
Capture… and escape

A hunt was mounted, and after three days the Lobo Girl of Devil's River was caught after fighting wildly to keep her freedom. She was taken to a ranch (really just a two-room hovel) and locked in. Her howling attracted answering cries from wolves far and wide, and a large pack of wolves rushed the corrals, attacking the goats, cows and horses. Shooting started, and in the confusion the girl managed to remove the board nailed over the window and make her escape.
Sighted seven years later

In 1852, a group of frontiersmen surveying a better route to El Paso saw a girl suckling two wolf cubs on a sand bar in the river, who then ran off, carrying the cubs. She would have been 17 in that year; but she was never seen again.

me and robin

the more pictures i look at of me and robin the more i miss him. he's just a lil red headed rascal. a dirty dirty rascal hes quite handsome.

a few more of bloodbeard barnerCollapse )

in other robin news robin destroyed my canon camera in an attempt to "fix it". this now means i am absolutely camera-less. FUCK ME. i suppose this should light a fire under my ass to possibly save some money or even generate some other type of income. i guess.

and still in other news, i have a possibility of gallery space in my friend Lauras new gallery which is opening in downtown Eureka Springs. awesome? yes. but heres the deal, i havent painted in a loooong time. so this asks the question: where do i start? i suppose the first place to start is possibly some sketches... but sketches of what? i need a theme. the outsider "fairytale" art thing is so overdone, although it is a subject i am fond of. the whole sexual undertones of the little red riding hood story for instance. yes. i like this. but i dont think im gonna go there. what i think i might do is paint dinosaur world. different dinosaurs and scenery from dinosaur world would be AWESOME. maybe in psychedelic colors? the more i think about it the more i like it. or how about locals? thats be bad ass too! i could do funky portraits of locals. hell yea. i think this.

pics from Dinosaur WorldCollapse )

ugh. so hungover. enough of this post.

mood: bored
at 3:30 like i had planned ive decided to upload some new user pics instead.

at some point in my life i will be stable. i think? im not sure if thats what i even want. unfortunately i think ive become an alcoholic. im a happy alcoholic, but nonetheless an alcoholic.

i think thats what they call you if you drink every day.

in other news today is Tess' birthday. yayyy. it's days like today that i miss LA a lot... although im not sure if i EVER plan on going back. *sigh*

Burning Man approaches... and i have once again reneged on what i said i was going to do... i spent all of my tax returns on WHAT? i dont know.

gosh this is a boring post. got 10 minutes to kill tho.

okay so i sit in front of a computer ALL DAY long... so if anyone has any interesting/time killing websites they know of send em my way.

BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

I love having Sundays off.
12:20pm 05/04/2009

mood: stoned
i slept in till 11:30. i never get to do that! im still waking up... although smoking first thing in the morning may attribute to my groggyness. i don't care... it's a mellow grog.

today i think i'll clean my house and finish my low income ticket form. i also need to get groceries and pull myself away from this computer. then i might head down to the bar for a margarita cause caitlin's bartending till 6. sounds like a good day to me. robin gets off of work at 6 also so it really works out well. i guess i should do some sit ups or something productive. ugh. im so lazy.

OH! robin's giving me an XBOX 360 for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! ahh! he knows how to fix them and hes got a couple lying around so i finally will have a game consol again. its been years, nintendo 64 style. im going to get Netflix for it and you can just download the movies right there instead of having to deal with mailing bullshit. this is going to give me the ability to never leave my house... EVER. HERMIT MODE! eh we'll see about that, but my house really is becomming sweet. living alone is the best thing ever ever ever ever. i dont know if ill be able to have a roomate ever again.

initiate dactyl sequence
11:33pm 01/04/2009

mood: creative
today has been a rather good day. i woke up late and went to work late, then promptly left and shopped all day. i got my tax returns back so i had a bit of spending money. went to target and got some stuff for the house as well as a pilates kit. rugs, lamps, etc. took little jackie to Petco. he got to pick out his own toy and a bone, and i got him a new collar, one of those rounded ones that doesnt ruff up the fur on their backs. he looks like a straight g. then i went to Hobby Lobby and got all the materials for the helmet (i guess thats what im calling it now?). i also bought a quarter of some danky herb and got APRIL FOOLED. sticky crap on the toilet seat?! EW! haha.

so when i got home i started making the frame of the pterodactyl. i free-hand drew it on foam board (it's like thick poster board) and nailed it first try. then i cut it out with an exacto knife and retraced it and repeated the process. it all looks good except for im worried about the bottom jaw being to heavy to be supported just from the back. i hope it works out. that and im not exactly sure how to attach it to the bike helmet. ive got a couple of ideas but i think im just going on sleep on it and save it for tomorrow. THAT and all of my glue guns are MIA except for the industrial one which i have ONE stick for. moving constantly definately has it's disadvantages.

another thing that aggivates me: NO PHOTOSHOP ON MY COMPUTER?! WTF?! i guess i havent tried to use it since robin reformatted it and apparently he declined to reinstall it. *cries* no photoshop, no camera, WHAT NEXT? NO HANDS? oh god that would be awful hehe

robin went on an impromptu camping trip. we havent been hanging out as much lately. i think its good for our relationship, but it also makes me antsy. although i guess im always antsy, and this bit of alone time really has fueled my creativity. its awesome that caitlin lives upstairs because when i feel like i need to talk to someone she's right there. shes bee painting all night and ive been locked away in m dungeon creating my frankendactyl. i think if this turns out like i want im going to design my tattoo after it. oh yea, im getting a huge red pterodactyl going up my left leg.

quitting smoking has proved more difficult than i had hoped. the first half of the day i was doing alright but come sun down all i want to do is smoke... probably because i havent stopped drinking like i said i would... but i have cut down! on both! im bringing it down slowly, ive done both excessively and im trying to ween myself down before i cut it off altogether, hopefully this will help ease me into the process.

im getting SO excited for Burning Man! im going to send in a low budget ticket form this weekend (okay i promise myself i WILL do it tomorrow!) and once i have the ticket i need to start preparing! im trying to be better with money, but im hoping soon it will pay off. well see.

one more big pic from my first year at Burning ManCollapse )

this is my second try at... well i guess i wouldn't call it "mask making" but its somewhere along those lines definately. my first try was my Angler fish-head that i made for Halloween. here's a pic of that:

Nick Cave is so cool.
04:54pm 01/06/2008
  TO ALL THOSE AT MTV,

I WOULD LIKE TO START BY THANKING YOU ALL FOR THE SUPPORT YOU HAVE GIVEN ME OVER RECENT YEARS AND I AM BOTH GRATEFUL AND FLATTERED BY THE NOMINATIONS THAT I HAVE RECEIVED FOR BEST MALE ARTIST. THE AIR PLAY GIVEN TO BOTH THE KYLIE MINOGUE AND P. J. HARVEY DUETS FROM MY LATEST ALBUM MURDER BALLADS HAS NOT GONE UNNOTICED AND HAS BEEN GREATLY APPRECIATED. SO AGAIN MY SINCERE THANKS.

HAVING SAID THAT, I FEEL THAT IT'S NECESSARY FOR ME TO REQUEST THAT MY NOMINATION FOR BEST MALE ARTIST BE WITHDRAWN AND FURTHERMORE ANY AWARDS OR NOMINATIONS FOR SUCH AWARDS THAT MAY ARISE IN LATER YEARS BE PRESENTED TO THOSE WHO FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE WITH THE COMPETITIVE NATURE OF THESE AWARD CEREMONIES. I MYSELF, DO NOT. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN OF THE OPINION THAT MY MUSIC IS UNIQUE AND INDIVIDUAL AND EXISTS BEYOND THE REALMS INHABITED BY THOSE WHO WOULD REDUCE THINGS TO MERE MEASURING. I AM IN COMPETITION WITH NO-ONE.
MY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY MUSE IS A DELICATE ONE AT THE BEST OF TIMES AND I FEEL THAT IT IS MY DUTY TO PROTECT HER FROM INFLUENCES THAT MAY OFFEND HER FRAGILE NATURE.

SHE COMES TO ME WITH THE GIFT OF SONG AND IN RETURN I TREAT HER WITH THE RESPECT I FEEL SHE DESERVES - IN THIS CASE THIS MEANS NOT SUBJECTING HER TO THE INDIGNITIES OF JUDGEMENT AND COMPETITION. MY MUSE IS NOT A HORSE AND I AM IN NO HORSE RACE AND IF INDEED SHE WAS, STILL I WOULD NOT HARNESS HER TO THIS TUMBREL - THIS BLOODY CART OF SEVERED HEADS AND GLITTERING PRIZES. MY MUSE MAY SPOOK! MAY BOLT! MAY ABANDON ME COMPLETELY!

SO ONCE AGAIN, TO THE PEOPLE AT MTV, I APPRECIATE THE ZEAL AND ENERGY THAT WAS PUT BEHIND MY LAST RECORD, I TRULY DO AND SAY THANK YOU AND AGAIN I SAY THANK YOU BUT NO...NO THANK YOU.

YOURS SINCERELY, NICK CAVE 21 OCT 96.

in other news, i believe i am going to see Tom Waits on June 25th, a week before my 23rd birthday.
